🔥 Libsyn Introduces Game-Changing Integration for Simultaneous Podcast Releases on YouTube
Libsyn has integrated with the newest podcast API features that were just announced on YouTube. The update gives the ability to publish podcasts directly to YouTube Music, building upon Libsyn's previous integration with YouTube.
The Revelation
In a blog post, Libsyn explained, "This integration enhances Libsyn's prior integration with YouTube, allowing for podcast publishing to YouTube Music. Through this integration, Libsyn customers will have access exclusively to a number of features directly from within their Libsyn account, including native audio podcast publishing to YouTube Music, podcast playlist creation, and updating of playlist artwork.
Libsyn vs. Spotify
Libsyn will not comment on the details about the other audio / video podcast platforms, especially Spotify ,Rich Romano, Libsyn's Vice President of Marketing, said in a statement.
"We are the first podcast hosting platform to enable podcasters to share their content across all their chosen audio platforms. Plus, we can distribute RSS podcast audio or video files concurrently to YouTube, YouTube Podcasts, and YouTube Music." Romano added.
In an interview with Podwires, Romano told us that the new feature spares podcasters' time and efforts incurred by the hassle of independent uploads to YouTube. Beyond streamlined publishing, this also includes integration with YouTube to create podcast playlists and update playlist artwork.
Why a big deal for podcasters?
It makes the process efficient for podcasters to distribute content and increases its visibility, multiplying its reach across more platforms. In the end, it leads to growing audiences and higher levels of engagement.
Our take:
What should be highlighted here is that probably this new feature is going to make big differences in enhancing the podcasting experience for both producers and listeners by making the discovery and engaging easier with a wide variety of media. Furthermore, further branding and customization through YouTube playlist and artwork updates can be leveraged by podcasters looking to increase their reach.

🚨Acast's Study Shows 4.9x ROI for Podcast Advertising
In a recent study, the largest independent podcast company in the world, Acast, and the media agency OMD have pointed out the effectiveness that podcast advertising has as a medium for building brands and driving sales.
The revelations
The study has indicated that podcast advertising is a very effective and profitable channel for selling brands in the long term. To that end, the study has shown that for every dollar spent on podcast advertising, there is a return of 4.9 dollars.
The short-term ROAS of podcast advertising equals 4.2, beating even social media and radio. What is more, this channel provides the best long-term return. Almost 5 is its ROAS, in comparison with average media ROAS of 3.7.
Alluding to podcasts within a TV content with online videos might raise the ad spend of an ROAS campaign in the short term to about 18%. Podcast ROI can be improved by 34% in upping brand awareness compared to traditional media. This synergy is really important in understanding how much more effective audio is as part of a broader media plan.
Missing in the Study
When Podwires asked Acast which exact strategies work the best to get the relevant audience for ads in their podcasts, they replied that none of the strategies were named in the study, noting that brand awareness and consideration were used to measure effectiveness, and sales were noted in that ROAS figure.
Acast conceded that the study does not make any reference to specific case studies or examples of any clients actually managing to achieve a 4.9x ROI by advertising on podcasts.
Johanna Turner, Nordic Sales Director at Acast, says: "Podcasting has quickly evolved from a niche medium to a significant mass medium. Those of us working with podcasts have long recognized their potential for both sales and brand building, and this study further confirms their effectiveness as an advertising medium. Through our close collaboration with media agencies, we see how podcast advertising is increasingly integrated into our clients' media strategies, demonstrating the unique ability of the medium to engage and reach the right audiences. Media agencies' insights and strategic guidance play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our clients' campaigns, making them invaluable partners in our mission to deliver results."
The Data and Sources
This econometric study has been executed by OMD together with Annalect in the Swedish market with a total of ad spend of 2 billion SEK (~175 million EUR) from 6 different industries and 32 different advertisers from across the sectors. The data was collected between 2021 and 2023, and out of 2 billion SEK, podcasts took 25 million SEK approximately.

This is important as it provides a full breakdown of what podcast advertising is all about and how it is effective within the Swedish market for many companies and sponsors. The specific data and sources that the study cites give some validity to the claimed 4.9x ROI for podcasting.

An extensive analysis reveals pertinent information on how the medium affects the various industries present in Sweden, thus showing the possible return on investment for companies planning through podcast advertising. In fact, the comprehensive insights regarding spend and efficacy are motivating enough to include podcasts explicitly as a strategic ad channel in the Swedish market.
