DMG Media announce the launch of brand new history podcast, Queens, Kings and Dastardly Things, with Episode 1 available to listen to from Wednesday 7th August.
Each episode of Queens, Kings and Dastardly Things dives headfirst into scandals of royal eras past and present. With no limits on historical period or geography, the hosts will uncover stories as far-flung as The Nepalese Massacre and traverse six centuries of royal history.
Hosted by fellow royal enthusiasts, Kate Williams and Robert Hardman, together they have over 40 years worth of experience, 20 historical novels and several hit documentaries between them (Robert produced Charles III: The Coronation Year on BBC One, the most-watched programme on UK television on Boxing Day 2023), cementing their authority and know-how to deliver the wider history of each period covered in the series.
As well as offering a weekly dose of royal history, Kate and Robert will attempt to answer a central question in each episode. Confirmed subjects across the ten-part series include:
Did Mary Queen of Scots murder her husband?
Did a grieving Queen Victoria secretly marry her servant?
James II and his fake heir scandal!
Did a sex pest really cause the Russian Revolution?
Queens, Kings and Dastardly Things gets to the bottom of the grittiest, juiciest (and naughtiest) parts of history. This is the new podcast for lovers of history, crime, and all things royal.
Episodes available weekly from Wednesday 7th August.
